Touratech victorious at Dawn to Dusk |
| We're all just recovering from our big off-road event of the year 'Dawn to Dusk', you can read the full race report, see some pics and read the results here at www.dawntodusk.co.uk |

After a full week of track preparation, from Friday night the hordes of keen racers and supporters started rolling up and setting out their camping and pit areas. All the Touratech staff, along with family and friends pitched in with signing-on and marshalling duties, rewarded by the gracious thanks of the participating teams. A veritable army of travelling marshals, off-road veterans all sallied forth to keep the tracks open and the riders safe through the night, then onwards through the following day.
A special mention here to Team Touratech (of course) who finished first and third overall in the 12 hour race - making the trip from Germany very worthwhile indeed!
By and large the weather was very kind and everyone at least went home dry (on the outside at least - thanks to the bar staff!). Bank holiday Monday found the crew still hard at it, removing all traces of the event from the mountainside - leaving the venue probably cleaner than when we arrived!

A thoroughly good time was had by all, it was an exhausting but thoroughly rewarding experience for the marshalling teams too. Congratulations and thanks to all who took part and helped out. |

Brighton Burn-up 12/09/10
We'll be joining the Rockers (and possibly some Mods) on Brighton Seafront for this years Brighton Burn-up, organised by the Ace Cafe on Sunday September 12th. The convoy of bikes will be leaving the Ace Cafe at 10.30 a.m., looping round the M25 then South down the M23. Aside from the incoming crew from the Ace, many tens of thousands of riders are expected to converge on the seaside town, to be greeted by bands, displays, stalls and stunt shows to entertain the masses.
With over 100,000 expected, it should be quite a day-out! We'll have some of our bikes on show along with a pallet or three of catalogues to give away. Look for us next to our old friends from south coast BMW specialists Chandlers. We hope to see you there!

| 10 years on 2 wheels - a must have travel book

With more than 200 glossy photos and nine maps, the English language version of this ever popular coffee table filler has been updated to include the latest journey through Siberia, Mongolia, China and Sakhalin Island. It's a true must-have for anyone interested in adventure travel.
It may well be a cliché to talk about the University of Life, but this is just how Helge Pedersen has matured and developed his personal philosophy over the 10 years it has taken him to ride his motorcycle 250,000 miles through 77 countries. In 1981, Pedersen bought a BMW R80 G/S motorcycle. In order to prepare it for a lengthy journey, he added a 40-litre fuel tank and other bits and pieces.
Crossing the worlds largest desert via motorcycle was Helge?s first big challenge on his African odyssey. As a departing gift, some friends had given him their version of a map of the Sahara - a sheet of sandpaper marked with the letter 'N' for North. Five months later Helge was on the road again. After climbing to the top of Kilimanjaro, Africas highest mountain, he journeyed on to Southern Sudan where civil war forced him to change plans and ride through Somalia. |
