4 WEEKS TO GO BEFORE THE TOURATECH DAWN TO DUSK ENDURO 2010!!! HAVE YOU BOOKED YET?
There's only 4 weeks to go until the start of the UK's only combined 24, 12 and 6 hour enduro and as with previous years the bookings are coming in thick and fast.
Every year we try to find new routes both to preserve the area for future events and also to make each lap as enjoyable as possible whether they are first timers or veterans of the race. Well this year is no different. Currently on the Walters Arena site groundwork is underway for the erection of several wind turbines. This has had significant changes to some areas of the site which has led to new tracks being found and new obstacles being introduced.
Touratech MD and Dawn to Dusk event organiser Nick Plumb says of the changes,
"We thought the turbines were going to cause a problem but instead they have made a great change to the site and the event. There's been a huge amount of earth moved up there and we're using this to our benefit".
The event will run as it did last year with the 24 hour riders setting off at 7pm on Saturday night on a shorter lap followed at 7am by the 12 hour racers at which time the full track will be opened. Then at 1pm the 6 hour riders will set off with everyone finishing at about 7pm on the Sunday night.

Haynes Adventure Motorcycle books
Many of you will be aware of the recent Haynes range of adventure motorcycling books. These books have been extremely popular which has lead to Haynes releasing a third book in the series.

*NEW* Building the Ultimate Adventure Motorcycle.
The essential guide to preparing a bike for the journey of a lifetime.
For and aspiring adventure motorcycle rider the biggest decisions are what bike to choose and how to go about kitting it out. Though some of the top adventure bikes currently on sale could arguably roll off the showroom floor and carry you just about anywhere in the world, it is human nature to tweak, enhance, customise and ultimately personalise your chosen machine before heading off. |

Not only does August see the launch of new magazine Adventure Bike Rider it also sees Bike magazine bundle up a 99 page magazine celebrating 30 years of the GS range.
We've been privvy to seeing advanced copies of both these mags and they have both been well thumbed from cover to cover by every member of our team.

Secure your BMW Navigator IV
- Now in stock the new Touratech Nav IV bracket -
Launched at the BMW Garmisch event and announced in our last news letter the Touratech lockable anti vibration bracket for the BMW Navigator IV is now in stock.
Since the first BMW Navigators we have often been asked for an improvement on the stock bracket but with the retention of the extra 4 buttons that the BMW bracket has. Unfortunately the extra buttons stopped our brackets from working - until now!
Our Aluminium (powder coated black) bracket not only cuts down on vibrations and makes the unit much more secure when riding but also has a lockable function to cut down on the risk of theft when the bike is left unattended for short periods of time (petrol stations, cafes etc).
The first batch has recently arrived so get yours now before stocks sell out. You can order your Nav IV bracket by phoning 01639 841765 quoting part number 065-0560 or by clicking here..... |
Touratech enjoy a Pyrenees Up with Austin Vince?
Our intrepid MD Nick Plumb, sets out to conquer the mountains on a 2-day off road Navigation Rally, accompanied by Craig Zocher, MD of Satellite Map specialists Azcari.
The annual Pyrenees up rally is run by experienced global travelers Austin (Mondo Enduro/Terra Circa) Vince and his wife Lois (Red tape and White Knuckles) Pryce. As it is an invitation only event, finding yourself riding off-road around the Pyrenees with Austin and Lois means you are one of the lucky ones. This was Nicks 3rd visit to the event, calendar clashes in previous years having prevented more attendance
Austin got the idea for this event after entering himself in a marathon Off-road race Nick organizes here in Wales annually, namely the legendary Dawn to Dusk enduro Heroically Austin entered in the 12 hour class aboard his round the world bike (Suzuki DR350)!
