Giddings's Glory!

The ninth annual running of UK's premier enduro event, Dawn to Dusk, ended at 7pm on Sunday 29th August with KTM Off Road Racing rider James Giddings taking the overall Marathon 24 hour win, after clocking up an astonishing fifty eight laps.

With a similar format to the highly successful 2009 set-up, this year's Touratech sponsored event featured 6 hour, 12 hour and 24 hour races, plus a youth race on the Saturday morning. Unlike the previous year this year's event was blessed with predominantly good weather conditions and as the youth class lined up on the start line at ten o'clock on Saturday morning there wasn?t a cloud in sight.

A short motocross circuit hosted the start of each of the races and the overlooking hillside was crammed with spectators waiting to see who would grab the holeshot. The youth class was split into three sub classes of Senior, Intermediate and Junior depending on ages and left the start line in intervals of a minute between each class. Charlie Frost onboard his Suzuki was first way and led the pack along the hill side into the woodland section. The youth course was a fantastic mixture of forest trails and gravel tracks with some heavily rutted areas to keep the young stars of the future challenged. After two hours of intense competition the front runners were close but it was Ashley Bowden who took the overall win with eleven laps and a lead of nine minutes from Harvey Dark in second and Danny Morris in third.

AND FINALLY........

From the whole Dawn to Dusk team we thank everyone who came to the event. This event would never be able to go ahead without the hard work of all involved from the food and drink stands, the trade stands, all the marshals who worked night and day to man the track and keep the race going and of course not to forget the racers who, without their continued support the race would not exsist.

So we hope you all enjoyed the race and hope to see you all next year. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled on your inbox and the website for details of were you can see sighting laps of the tracks and of course for entry forms for next years event.

Thanks,
Dawn to Dusk
